Community Showcase: Asian Indian

Peoria is home to a vibrant and growing Asian Indian community of over 4000 people from about 1000 families. These families are the foundation of a strong Asian Indian presence in the region.

Cultural Events

Passage to India – a premier destination cultural event that provides a rare glimpse into the beautiful and unique Indian lifestyle.

India Fest -an outdoor festival  Peoria’s Riverfront  with  live music, authentic Indian cuisine, traditional Indian dancing and much more. Proceeds have benefited St Jude, Central Illinois Chapter for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CICBVI), South Side Mission, and Center for the Prevention of Abuse.

Diwali Gala – an evening dinner function marking the end of the fundraising campaign for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Bollywood Night – a cultural event, whose proceeds benefit St Jude.
